Centers
Reading/LiteracyThere are numerous ways to implement reading and literacy centers in your classroom. Examples may include; a writing station where students practice writing (it can be in sand or shaving cream to make it more engaging), it can be a classroom library with comfortable seating, it can be a word sort station, etc. Having areas for students to preform these tasks gets them excited about learning.

The purpose of centers is to engage the students in their work, and gives the students an opportunity to learn with their classmates. Math centers should include activities that meet all the needs of the students, and that are fun and engaging. Some examples of centers are math games, worksheets, manipulatives, etc.
